Smart people will continue to find ways to bank online. This might just push more of us to actually work…unfortunately.

Another thing to note regarding affiliate marketing is Google’s push toward CPA advertising and lead generation. Why use affiliates at all if you can eventually get a lower CPA straight through Google?

We dont spend anything on adwords and just follow the rules. use quality backlinks, referalls and word of mouth to help spread the buzz. As we stay away from paper advertising to save costs for us & our customers and only use the web its so easy to say ppc…Why..What.. dont waist your $$$. we see it this way, ppc is temporary rankings. if your not truelly seo’ed ..dont bother. after a revamp and total analysis of a site then we use press releases and inhouse networking to help spread the word and thus dont spend anything on ppc or ppa or anything alike..so much simpler.

And at that time they were willing to entertain appeals for the accounts they were disabling. Obviously that’s not the case for the all the Dec 2nd and 3rd wipe outs.

I don’t think Google is anti-affiliate either, just anti anything they can’t squeeze a larger slice of pie from or enforce their policy on at will. So I’m looking forward to seeing how people manipulate the Google Goggles real-time.

Guess we’ll all be signing up for Corey’s scraper…

Great post for sure. Hey I REALLY picked an AWESOME time to get into this game huh? Like anything, it’s all about not bitching and moaning, assessing the situation, and figuring out how to best proceed.

What about pay per text/in-line advertising?

Hey Corey,

Running 5% of yr volume on Adwords is kinda ironic for a PPC Coach, although I’m sure it’s a smart move to diversify into other networks, PPV, media buys.

AffPortal def looks like a nice set of tools. With some out of the box thinking, it’d open up new opportunities, esp with bidding on deep links vs root domain bidding.

I got the dreaded Adwords letter last Thursday. Funny thing is that I have been 95% google free for the past 6 months and currently running 0 on adwords but still got one of my MCC accounts banned. I’m sure the other MCC is on the chopping block…

Good thing for alternate sources and diversification…

Corey
