You probably meant to direct readers to http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Although after looking at how you have to get into the guts of your hosting account, playing around with the mySQL and phpMyAdmin panel, it’s very much in the vein of doing things the hard way.

Why not install the plugin and do things the easy way?

Especially when you can schedule backups?
