At 12:30am I got an email from Super Affiliate Ewen Chia about yet another crazy offer.

That makes the 5th ‘crazy’ offer this week I thought.

I decided to check out the sales page for kicks before I turned in for the night.

Ewen was right. It IS a crazy offer.

This is the first time I’ve seen someone price a solid Internet Marketing product at $5.

And it’s more than 100 pages of content about creating eBooks and the business models for marketing them.

I bought it immediately for $5.10.

Personally, I feel this is the best $5.10 I have ever spent on an Internet Marketing product.

It also comes with 2 software: a flying Ad creator, and a PDF toolkit.

I haven’t studied what they do yet, but they look interesting.

The price for the package goes up once a set amount of time passes (the current price jump is $0.05 every 30 minutes…and it may increase by larger amounts as time progresses), although I believe even at $20, the package is still worth its salt.

But for the most part I was laughing at the foolishness of the person.

Around 352pm, a nameless blogger put up this page:

Of course, I was concerned that he listed the download link for Ewen Chia’s Auto Blog Income Generator.

I got some help translating it.

It says something to the effect that “a famous Internet Marketer was selling this and now it’s yours for free. You can go to the download page and get a copy.”

I don’t understand the logic of this individual, except that he’s not all there in the business sense.

I figured the intent of Internet Marketing was, and still is, to generate income from our online endeavors.

If giving away an income source floats your boat, then all the power to the blogger.

My idea of investing in Internet Marketing tools and software is that you’re acquiring the tools to catch your own fish.

I don’t see the point in giving away your fishing rod, your fishing line, your tackle to everyone who walks by.

Is there a point to this?

If the person was thinking they were ‘cheating the system’, they were only cheating themselves.

Because in the process they might’ve shortchanged me to some extent, but ultimately they’ve shortchanged themsef.

All this illustrates the naivete of many who enter Internet Marketing.

Sure all of us would like to be the next Google, Yahoo! or Amazon.

However, how many really cut it?

Can a giveaway model work?

They weren’t even building a list. Just using blogger to engage in questionable activities.

Here’s a first lesson for the wayward blogger.

A successful business model needs to be:

• Financially viable: You have to make profit at some point, even if you’re bleeding funds in the beginning.
• Sustainable: You need to have a model that works in the long term. Not just 1,000 Made-for-Adsense sites that are cataclymically affected every time Google changes its search algorithm.
• Scalable: It must expand as the business expands. Can it become a household product globally?

It’s only when you incoporate all three elements into your business planning process that you’d see results.

And with the results, impressive returns.

Does it work?

I think my results speak for themselves.

Let’s go on to my favourite affiliate marketer.

Super Affiliate Ewen Chia and Andrew Wee

Something he said during Saturday’s workshop (that’s the Ewen Chia and Jo Han Mok Advanced Strategies workshop) gave me my money’s worth.

Would you like to know what it is?

But if you have a chance to invest in a copy of the workshop videos, you’ll get more than your investment, because I was probing the two gurus for their insider secrets throughout, and they were very open in their answers.

But more on that particular Ewen tip later.

Picking a mentor is important if you want to succeed in a short timeframe and I’d generally use the following criteria to pick a strong one:

• Do they practise what they preach? Or is he just a ‘theory’ guy?
• Are they in for the long haul? Or just a flash in the plan?
• Are they using their own system? Or merely copying someone else?

It’s important especially for your mentor to be using their own system (which could be adapted from someone else’s.

If they’re doing wholesale copying of someone else, take heed. It’ll retard their ability to continually evolve the system.

It’s like buying a stock car and being unable to make modifications to it. You could be ‘jammed’ especially if you’re in an unfamiliar situation and you aren’t able to adapt the system.

But back to Ewen’s insider tip.

I don’t believe anyone would dispute that we should be continually building our own brand on the Internet.

I’m sure most would agree it wouldn’t make sense to build up someone else’s brand name on the Internet.

Taking one step further.

If you’re doing Internet Marketing, why would you engage in activities which continually build up the branding for an affiliate marketing product you’re promoting?

Are you guilty of advertising some hot new product and using the product name as a keyword?
Think about this for a moment.

Why would you build a brand for a product like XYZ blogging tool or AAA affiliate marketing software?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to build yourself up as an authority figure?

Look at Ewen Chia the brand for a moment.

If you’re on his list, and he mentions he found GGG analytics or DDD autoresponder to be a useful tool, would you be likely to check it out? Maybe even invest in it?

After all, if the Super Affiliate Ewen Chia says it must be good, it must be good, musn’t it?

And if you found it to be useful, it’d merely reinforce his postion as an authority figure, wouldn’t it?

So the upshot of all this?

Build yourself up as a high authority figure.

Put your name, or your business name on forum posts, blog comments, article submissions.

Ditch the “Internet4Wealth”, “FastMoneyNow”, “MoneyMakingForum” usernames/nicknames/monikers. They may help you with linkbaiting or traffic stealing efforts today, but they won’t help you in the long term.

Instead: Build up the “Me” brand.

Create an aura of competence and authority. Embark on your Internet Marketing efforts with confidence.

And as you’re contemplating all this, remember two words:

Andrew Wee.

After thinking about it for a day, one of my regular blog visitors decided to invest in the a copy of Ewen Chia’s Web Advertising Secrets.

They were quite upset.

Why didn’t you tell me it was $97?

Huh?

It’s $97! Why did you put $57 on your blog?

I checked my clickbank receipt.

Yep. $57.

And regular blog visitor HC Chin also got it for $57.

So I would guess sometime after I blogged about it and the time of this posting, the price was adjusted.

And herein lies the problem for new Internet Marketers.

An obsession with the cost associated to investing in your knowledge.

If a $40 price difference is going to make or break a deal, I’d be worried.

I gladly paid $97 for Affiliate Project X, scarcely two days after the price was adjusted.

Was I upset?

Well, I was upset at myself for not taking action sooner.

But I was glad I had the knowledge in hand. (I estimate I’ve made an easy $500 after applying some of APX’s strategies).

So the lesson here is not how much you put in,

but rather, what you plan to get out of it.

All the products I’ve been recommending are ones that I’m using myself.

I just turned away an opportunity to affiliate a very interesting Adsense-related Internet Marketing product yesterday because it’s way out of my blogging and affiliate marketing niche.

Why?

Because I wouldn’t be able to evaluate it fairly and wouldn’t be able to recommend it with conviction.

Whether you’re talking about Internet Marketing, or business in general, I see it as long haul game.

And whatever investments you put in, are a step towards your personal development.

Will $97 kill anybody?

I don’t think so. It could will, however, give you a set of strategies to bring yourself to the next level.

I have a confession to make.

I may have erm…had a hand in influencing the product marketing for one of Super Affiliate Ewen Chia’s products.

You see, on the sidelines of Internet Money Secrets, I got some 1-on-1 time with Ewen and I gave him some feedback on his products.

It includes various blogging themes and blog add-ons which will help enhance the attractiveness of your site, especially for blog ads. If you already have bought Ewen’s UltimateAffiliateWeapon, you’ll know that Ewen puts out quality products. This latest blogging package is no exception.
2. Does it work?: The people who have already bought it from me and have started blogging, say they got a whole bunch of new blogging information from the product, even though they were already casually blogging. You might not be able to reap thousands and thousands of dollars from this auto blogging income generator, but you could expect to get in the tens of dollars if you implement it effectively. From there it’s a matter of scaling the number of blogs.
3. What if I don’t make money?: From going through the package, I can see that it’s a systematic approach to generating blog content and google adsense income. If you apply it step-by-step, I don’t see why you shouldn’t succeed.
