Traffic Generation from Russell Brunson and Conquer Your Niche

Conquer Your NicheInternet Marketer Russell Brunson has launched his Conquer Your Niche (CYN) Internet Marketing forum a coupl e of days ago and it’s been an interesting experience.
If you’re thinking that this is a run-of-the-mill IM forum, you’re in for a few surprises.

I’ve seen a number of prominent Internet Marketers in there, including the likes of Mike “Death of Internet Marketing” Filsamie, Cody Moya, Michelle “Badder Adder” MacPhearson, Keith “Death of Adsense” Baxter (among others).

What I particularly enjoy about the forum is that though it’s similar in some ways to the Warrior Forum where a lot of the Internet Marketing big guns also hang out, CYN has an atmosphere that is helped by a staff of helpful moderators.

And you’d recognize a number of names too.

Is it a good forum?

Check out this thread on “Ad Blindness on CNY

There are pretty intelligent discussions on the forum (a break from the ‘what is RSS’ questions on newbie forums).

By the way, Russell’s done quite a great job of viral marketing the site.

Check out his Alexa stats:

Conquer Your Niche

Conquer Your Niche

Alexa 504.

Pretty impressive, no?

I’ve been active there, posting on a number of threads, establishing rapport with a number of the Who’s Who of the Internet Marketing universe.

And my blog traffic has benefitted too.

Here’re my stats:

WhoIsAndrewWee.com alexa

WhoIsAndrewWee.com

Yes, that’s right. My Alexa is at a historical 1-day high of 11,188 and near the magical sub-10,000 Alexa mark.

I’ve also seen an unprecedented number of opt-ins into the WIAW mailing list too, which is a better metric of my marketing effectiveness.

There’s 2 ways to gain traffic from CYN, here’s a low down of my strategies:

  • Ad Display: You get ad credits from posting messages on the boards. The ads are displayed at the top and bottom of the forum postings (not as optimal as sandwiched in between posts – which can be irritating for readers). I’m not sure that this will be very effective, aside from those who’re clicking on the ads and possibly opting-in for research purposes.
  • Singature Links: A much better prospect. Signatures are tagged at the bottom of your forum posts. And if you have a content-rich forum post, you’re more likely to elicit interest in your reader and get a clickthrough to your blog/website.

Content-rich posting is fairly easy to do, going by the following steps:

  • Pick relevant threads: Since blogging and affiliate marketing are my areas of focus, I stick to those. No point getting into deep discussions about the technical aspects of SEO especially if I might not have much to contribute.
  • Pick and choose your discussions: There’re about 587 topics with 6381 posts in the marketing section, and 152 topics with 659 posts in the JV/networking/special offers section. Are you going to read every thread? Treat it like you’d treat the papers, skim topic titles go into the ones that look interesting. If there’re more participants, there’s more scope for discussion. Unless you’re good at introducing new points of view, don’t take part.
  • Add value: Everyone hates forum posters who put a “nice post” comment. It says nothing, it does nothing, and it’ll ultimately reflect what everyone thinks of you. If you can’t add any value to the discussion, it’s better to forever hold your peace. Unless you’re a mascochist and like to raise the ire of the community and become the pariah. (an achievement for a brand new forum).
  • Have fun!: Simple one, this. If you’re not having fun, don’t do it.

Last thing, what I especially like about the forum is that since the majority of participants are Internet Marketers hailing from all over the globe, and Internet Marketers are known for being:

  • Workaholics
  • Insomniacs

You’d almost always find someone to talk to, and responding to your threads.

I actually believe the Conquer Your Niche if all thing remains equal has a success factor that will certainly bring some degree of fame and fortune.

The business oriented approach is a definite “must copy and do” for other forum owners out there. I have noticed a number of other forums with the same approach to grow their internet real estate portfolio.

Russell Brunson is an innovator supreme who I wouldn’t rush to crown as an internet marketing guru. To many “guru clain to fame” are out there at the moment and I dont believe Mr Brunson is the type to strut across Cyberspace saying the greatest this and the greatest that authority, nope, he’s far more intelligent for that.

Users of this forum do benefit greatly from the helpful advice by other caring mrmbers who feel the urge to help their fellow forum users succeed at what they do best…innovate

i requested this ‘free’ freight only offer (of course we know, because tehy have told us, teh y freight covers all the cost manufacture too)

i then was taken through upteen upsell back end offers (4-5 in fact!)

although referred to there was no “no thanks” button so i clicked on ted nearest thig to a next page button to get final page and to orginal offer

unbeknown to me, every time i clicked next page button, they were charging me for EVERY item

    ALL WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION.

AND NO SHOPPING CART OR ANYTHING AT END JUST THE ORIGINAL OFFER PAGE I WAS AFTER

the first i knew about it was when i clicked send/receive and all these separate order acknowledgements came pouring in .. some $4,000 in total!!!

so i followed so called support link and sent in a complaint and a demand for a immediate refund

(you notice with all these web based forms that (unless you do screen captures etc) – YOU HAVE NO RECORD !)

    no reply/response after two days.

    so i sent another opne.

    no response AGAIN/STILL!

    NOW ABOUT 4 days later.

so we have gone to cc company and hopefully sort it out)

completely put me off russell and mike, and his mates, and since then been busy cancelling subscrioptins everywher except a couple.

[…] the Conquer Your Niche board – Today, 02:10 PM Russell Brunson, an active member of the Warriors Forum, has just launched his Conquer Your Niche board. it’s been an interesting experience communicating with the who’s who of the internet mkting community. although they haven’t cleanly segregated the board into it’s subsections yet, (just a ‘marketing’ and a ‘special offers/JV/networking’ boards), it’s well-moderated and I’ve generated some leads from there.
