Eg. A person sees a mention for a new beverage (eg. a horseradish-flavoured soda) on a website, sees a celebrity endorsement, receives a flyer in the mail, on 7 occasions before they buy it to try it out.

On the Internet, however, I feel it’s probably closer to 5 exposures before trust is established. Perhaps it’s due to the instant gratification, instant exposure and immediate deliverability nature of the medium that lends itself to this.

Social Traffic

Has there been a time when a hot product was being launched and you received multiple mailings for the product from the big affiliates?

Perhaps after reading a number of those, you decided to take up the offer after reading the 4th or 5th email?

After all, if all the Internet Marketing big guns are promoting this product, it must be good, isn’t it?

There are elements of social conformity and social acceptance involved in social traffic and social networking strategies and the Internet 5 Exposure Strategy taps on these.

One way I’ve used the Internet 5 Exposure Strategy has been to build up my contact base, especially among high authority Internet Marketing contact.

Just imagine, you’re an active participant in a high authority, high traffic forum. You establish a pattern for posting high value content on the site. At the same time, you might also send relevant private messages to the high authority figures you identify.

At the same time, you can be an active particpant among social networking sites and Inner Circle Blogs. As you gradually work yourself into the cliche’s consciousness, you will subconsciously build up your Social Credibility.

If you’ve applying the strategy effectively, you’ll notice that you will attract ‘followers’ too.

If, and only if, you apply social dynamics theory effectively, will you see quantum returns from your efforts.

Social Traffic can generate immediate and huge amounts of traffic, compared to older school search engine optimization.

Will 2007 be the year that Social Traffic comes to the fore?
