You can have the nicest looking website, with original content and the perfect opt-in page.

But if you don’t have traffic, especially qualified traffic coming to your site, your online venture might come to a screeching halt, not to mention you might end up with a list of one (that’s yourself).

Which was why I found Ewen Chia’s Web Advertising Secrets an easy product to promote.

Containing more than 20 different traffic generation methods, at it’s $97 price, it’d generate it’s value in adsense or affiliate marketing income very quickly.

Granted, within an 86 page ebook, he wont be able to go through the “Run Your Browser, go to “Google.com”, enter “Article Submission”, micro level steps that a “Dummies” or “Idiots” computer book would go into, but I think it leaves the book addressing you in a more intelligent manner.

But what if you get stuck?

Ross has thoughfully included two support mechanisms:

• Email course to guide you through the traffic generation process
• Members-only forum where you can direct traffic generation questions directly to Ross

Included in the product pack are related tools and software which will help automate your traffic generation process and give you an edge up in lead generation. He’s also included a list of Private Label Rights bonuses which I haven’t had a chance to check out yet.

Bottomline:

Is Traffic Masters 2007 worth investing in at the launch price of $97?

While you could invest that amount in Pay Per Click traffic and generate one-off traffic for your website, my feeling is that investing in Traffic Masters will expand the range of traffic tools at your disposal.

Many of Traffic Masters’ strategies are low cost or free, so you can get massive leverage from using them.

My suggestion is that newer Internet Marketers will find this an instructional and practical read.

Experienced Internet Marketers will find that it fills in the gaps in their traffic generation strategies and is a good reference to have on hand.

Doing unnecessary technical stuff to make things hard for your customers.

I was offered a ‘leaked’ chapter for an affiliate product.

I filled in my name and email, ready for the onslaught of email to come.

I get to the download page, and download the file.

I look at the file.

.RAR.

Hmm. I’m just wondering.

Why use a file archival format that isn’t natively supported by Windows?

I’d have to download extra stuff just to look at an ebook?

I looked up this page: Cross-Platform File Compression and Encoding

To open this RAR file, I’d have to download a third-party decompression utility, 7-Up .

The user interface is somewhat clunky and designed for techies.

Then again it’s free.

I finally opened it.

It was pretty good, 58 pages of how to use MySpace to expand your network, do more sales, bake better bread and take over the universe. (I was kidding about the bread baking.)

But from a usability standpoint, look at this for a moment.

Most of us are on broadband Internet access, aren’t we?

We diligently support our telco, cable or satelitte provider.

We download lots of stuff every day.

Sometimes we even read it.

But I hardly feel a 2 megabyte ebook merits using a proprietory compression format.

You just make things hard for your users and yourself.

People (Internet Marketers included) are fundamentally lazy.

The less we have to do, the better.

If happiness could come with a mouse click, I’d bottle it up and list it on Clickbank.

So the unnecessary file compression creates a barrier to entry, or barrier to use in this case.

Do you really want to make life difficult for us?

Instead, give us instant gratification.

After thinking about it for a day, one of my regular blog visitors decided to invest in the a copy of Ewen Chia’s Web Advertising Secrets.

They were quite upset.

Why didn’t you tell me it was $97?

Huh?

It’s $97! Why did you put $57 on your blog?

I checked my clickbank receipt.

Yep. $57.

And regular blog visitor HC Chin also got it for $57.

So I would guess sometime after I blogged about it and the time of this posting, the price was adjusted.

And herein lies the problem for new Internet Marketers.

An obsession with the cost associated to investing in your knowledge.

If a $40 price difference is going to make or break a deal, I’d be worried.

I gladly paid $97 for Affiliate Project X, scarcely two days after the price was adjusted.

Was I upset?

Well, I was upset at myself for not taking action sooner.

But I was glad I had the knowledge in hand. (I estimate I’ve made an easy $500 after applying some of APX’s strategies).

So the lesson here is not how much you put in,

but rather, what you plan to get out of it.

All the products I’ve been recommending are ones that I’m using myself.

I just turned away an opportunity to affiliate a very interesting Adsense-related Internet Marketing product yesterday because it’s way out of my blogging and affiliate marketing niche.

Why?

Because I wouldn’t be able to evaluate it fairly and wouldn’t be able to recommend it with conviction.

Whether you’re talking about Internet Marketing, or business in general, I see it as long haul game.

I have a confession to make.

I may have erm…had a hand in influencing the product marketing for one of Super Affiliate Ewen Chia’s products.
