{"id":218,"date":"2006-12-07T15:21:43","date_gmt":"2006-12-07T07:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whoisandrewwee.com\/218\/digital-keiretsu-forum-migration\/"},"modified":"2006-12-07T15:21:43","modified_gmt":"2006-12-07T07:21:43","slug":"digital-keiretsu-forum-migration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/whoisandrewwee.com\/forums\/digital-keiretsu-forum-migration\/","title":{"rendered":"The End of One Internet Marketing Forum, Continues with Another"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forums are a great way of getting information, especially on an active forum where you might get an answer to a question within minutes after posting a question.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been managing two forums for the past 4 months and we&#8217;ve come to a decision point.<\/p>\n<p>Should we continue<!--more--> with two parallel forums, both focused on Internet Marketing?<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Digital Keiretsu\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalkeiretsu.com\/dkforum\/\"><img alt=\"Digital Keiretsu logo\" title=\"Digital Keiretsu logo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.whoisandrewwee.com\/images\/blog0612\/digitalkeiretsu.gif\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was after quite a bit of reflection that I&#8217;ve decided to take down the WhoIsAndrewWee forum and to focus on building up the <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Digital Keiretsu.com Internet Marketing Forum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalkeiretsu.com\/dkforum\/\">Digital Keiretsu (DK) Internet Marketing forum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of pull factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Easy Upgrade Path<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The DK forum based on vBulletin gives great functions via it&#8217;s modular\/plug-in architecture.<\/p>\n<p>My friend and fellow Internet Marketer, <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"TofuMonkey Internet Marketing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tofumonkey.com\">TofuMonkey<\/a>, spent many hours hacking the WhoIsAndrewWee forum code to add new functions like the embedding of video clips.<\/p>\n<p>However, it kinda worked, but wasn&#8217;t what we expected.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, DK&#8217;s vBulletin (vB) code was much easier to handle, especially with the help of Forum Guru Ryan Chua.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m able to embed videos easily and vB natively supports many functions via it&#8217;s architecture.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Ryan has tweaked the DK forum and it looks quite different from stock vB forums.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rich Media Content<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s just a matter of time before blogging goes way beyond text to encompass photos, images, audio, video and enhanced interactivity.<\/p>\n<p>Two words: <strong>Viral Video<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, the focus on adding DK&#8217;s video resources.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Judson Laipply\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalkeiretsu.com\/dkforum\/showthread.php?t=128\"><img alt=\"Judson Laipply\" title=\"Judson Laipply\" src=\"http:\/\/www.whoisandrewwee.com\/images\/blog0612\/judson.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Check out: <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Digital Keiretsu video clips\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalkeiretsu.com\/dkforum\/forumdisplay.php?f=25\">Digital Keiretsu&#8217;s video clips<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I especially like Judson Laipply&#8217;s &#8220;Evolution of Dance&#8221; and the &#8220;Hugs Campaign&#8221; videos.<\/p>\n<p>Viral videos are already generating massive amounts of traffic and you can expect them to be more pervasive especially as powerful video editing computers and software becomes more common.<\/p>\n<p>Want to see the face of the future?<\/p>\n<p>Check out: <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Digital Keiretsu forum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalkeiretsu.com\/dkforum\/\">Digital Keiretsu&#8217;s video clips<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forums are a great way of getting information, especially on an active forum where you might get an answer to a question within minutes after posting a question.
