Have a Voice<\/strong><\/p>\n Having a voice personalizes your blog. The top blogs are read not so much for their factual content, but often the ‘spin’, interpretation or analysis of the facts.<\/p>\n You can choose to be informative, instructional, funny, maybe even a combination of all the voices you choose to project.<\/p>\n Writing, and increasing podcasts and vodcasts give a deeper look to the blogger’s mind, emotions and personality.<\/p>\n We’re all voyeuristic to some extent and that’s what makes it engaging.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Get Outside the blogosphere<\/strong><\/p>\n It’s easy to be insular and talk about stuff in the ‘blogging world’.<\/p>\n Though engaging readers on a number of fronts, especially engaging with the ‘real world’ and ‘real life’ makes a blog more relevant.<\/p>\n While I was active in the world of mudding (the text-based predecessor to MMPOGs), it was all too easy to get lost in the world of raids, gold accumilation and perfecting your avatar\/cottage\/castle\/realm.<\/p>\n If your blog factors reality into the picture, it’d lend for a richer experience all around.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Market Yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n Build up your ‘me’ brand is a theme which has been covered in previous postings.<\/p>\n If you’re not going to market yourself, who is?<\/p>\n For inspiration, check out:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What? There’s more? Paul Scoble has included a number of ‘bonuses’ and there’s actually more than “10 Ways” to a killer blog.
