They are just 1-2 sentences of nonsense.<\/p>\n<p>Really, I asked? What if blog comments could bring you <strong>300% more traffic<\/strong>? Would that be interesting?<!--more--><br \/>\nUnlikely! I delete away all the blog comments I get. Those guys are just fishing for a link back to their blog. I&#8217;ve already built up my Google rankings. No sense to have outgoing links.<\/p>\n<p>Ah, but <strong><em>what if<\/em><\/strong> the comment was useful?<\/p>\n<p>Useful?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, if the person reading your post were to read the comment and get a lot of value from it. Would you leave it on?<\/p>\n<p>What do you mean?<\/p>\n<p>I showed him a couple.<\/p>\n<p>Hmm, interesting. I guess I&#8217;d leave it on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BUT<\/strong> what if I included my blog address in it. Would you still leave it on.<\/p>\n<p>Why not?<\/p>\n<p><!--adsense#wide-->What&#8217;re the benefits of blog comments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enhanced credibility<\/strong>: If you come across as knowledgeable about the blogger&#8217;s topic, you&#8217;ll enhance your standing in the community. If you ask intelligent questions, you will also enhance your standing. If you are sharp, you will be able to differentiate between <strong>value-adding<\/strong> and <strong>value-destroying <\/strong>comments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reciprocal traffic<\/strong>: If you sound like an interesting person and come across as an authority in your subject area, expect the visitor to hop onto your site for a quick look. Be aware that having <strong>consistently good content <\/strong>is important as you never know when guests will come a-knocking. <strong>Updating regularly <\/strong>(at least once a week, more if you can) is important too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bookmarking\/Backlinking\/Traffic referral<\/strong>: If your blog is a good resource, expect others to bookmark your site, subscribe to your RSS feed, include you in their blogroll, tell their friends about you, do trackbacks. This is all good quality &#8216;sticky&#8217; (loyal) traffic. I would rather have 300 loyal readers every day, rather than 1,000 who just happened to surf by,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So there you have it, to have a meaningful comment, just leave <strong>quality comments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Simple, right?<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who might like a little more, I&#8217;ll be leaving comments to this post to illustrate what I mean.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned my topic to a close buddy.
