A View Into The PUA World Of Mystery And Project Hollywood 2

I just got back from spending half a day at Project Hollywood 2, the homebase of PickUp Artist Mystery and the Venusian Arts team. Besides Mystery, I also got to meet Lovedrop and Matador.

If you missed the first season of VH1’s The PickUp Artist, you can check out the VH1 page.

The series is slated for a second season and there’re a number of surprises planned, so reality series fans should be waiting with bated breath…

So into an undisclosed apartment complex in Hollywood, I got to check out Mystery’s digs, which has a great pool and BBQ area, just perfect for parties…

I got to do the old meet-and-greet at Project Hollywood 2 AKA Hotel Mystery:

And besides getting a copy of his “Mystery Method” book autographed, I also got to hear about (more…)

The Amazing Women of Affiliate Summit

Although Missy Ward and Shawn Collins’ Affiliate Summit West seminar and tradeshow is now over, going through the 300+ photos I’ve taken makes me realize that although the affiliate industry continues to be male-dominated, there’re a number of female faces to take note of too.

With that, here are the women of the Affiliate Summit:

justine ezarik

Justine Ezarik is a lifecasting star who vlogs over at iJustine.tv. She spoke at the social marketing session with Sam Harrelson, Stephanie Agresta, Debbie Schultz and Tris Hussey sitting on the panel.

stephanie harris

Schaaf Consulting’s Stephanie Harris spoke at the Anik Singal’s AC Certified workshop the day before Affiliate Summit.

Friday Podcast: “Rachel Rofe Exposed…”

rachel rofeIf you haven’t had a chance to read my post “Watch Out For Rachel Rofe

You’ll want to read that and come back to catch my Friday Interview with her.

She’s not only one of the most knowledgeable SEO and analytics-based marketers I know, she’s someone you want to keep an eye out for.

In this interview, I squeeze the truth out of her, as she reveals…

  • How she started out as a spammer, earning $500-800 a day as a newbie
  • How she’s moved on to building real businesses, one of which is projected to reach $1m in value by Feb 2009
  • The strategies she uses to employ her goals, and how she builds her network
  • If you’re wondering about her “Internet Marketing Party Girl” moniker, I’d like to think I played a small part in that too.

She’s appeared on the cover of Woman’s World which is more popular than Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, and Forbes.

I don’t think she’s publicly talked about some of the stuff covered in the Friday Podcast, so you’d want to check it out below…

2 More Affiliate Summits Coming Up This Year???

If you’ve been watching the Affiliate Summit website, you might’ve missed this little goodie, if you blinked:

Upcoming Affiliate Summits: Boston (August 10-12, 2008) — New York City (October 5, 2008).

I’ve known about Affiliate Summit East in Boston later in August, but “New York City”?

That’s news to me.

Is that going to be “Affiliate Summit East 2”?

My buddy, Loxly, aptly pointed out that the NYC event is just one day. So it could be a scaled down event?

I would have checked with Affiliate Summit co-founder Shawn Collins, but he looks like he’s away from his computer now.

Maybe we’ll see some updates shortly from Shawn.

I’m already making plans to attend the Boston event, though it’ll be interesting to hear what “Affiliate Summit East 2” in NYC holds…

What’s Keeping You From Making More Money Online?

I got an email from Missy who owns G34media, a small network of 4 blogs and she asks:

Hi—Andrew:

I found your blog through a post on “How to Make Money Online” over at ABW.

This post caught my attention, as im suppose to be working right now, and instead im at your blog procrastinating.

I would say i have a —fear of success— not failure. It is the classic “middle class syndrome”.

My modus operandi is that i tend to take on too much, right now im managing 4 blogs. Plus i get paid to write on another.

Sometimes i want to chuck some of the blogs, and just concentrate on one, but then i feel like im giving away future income.

What thoughts have you on my blog network?Should i concentrate on one or two blogs and sell the others, or just keep them, and write when i can.

Would love feedback from you.

Missy.

I’m not sure if Missy expected that it’d become a full-fledged post, but I think many internet marketers are in a similar situation.

Here’s my take:

Procrastination is something that happens if we don’t have a clear goal/outcome in mind, and may not have a game plan in hand.

If you don’t have visibility of what you are going to achieve (like getting into your car and not having a destination in mind), it’ll be natural that you might wander around aimlessly (eg. spend endless hours in forums, reading blogs, filing a twitter every 5 mins) – yes, you’re right, you are a digital slacker.

Just think back for a moment about why you got into internet marketing?

To spend more time with the family? To generate multiple time what you’re earning now? To achieve financial freedom?

I don’t know about you, but (more…)
