Is MyInternetBusiness A Scam?

Embedded in the emails sent to this blog was an offer to “find out more” about MyInternetBusiness, a business opportunity targeted at the “Recessionaire” (someone who accumulates wealth during a recession), but is it really all its cracked up to be?

myinternetbusiness scam

First some warning signs – emails came in with a suggestion to visit an affiliate link.

Next the opt-in page lists promises of:

  • “$30k in 30 days”
  • Do Nothing Make Money
  • We do it all for you
  • Passive Income

While I’m not one to pass on a free handout, especially if some other poor sap hardworking guy is out there working his butt off to earn me $30k a month, I just have to wonder at their intelligence of working for someone else.

If they’re so smart, shouldn’t they be working for themselves?

So some smart bizop seekers will type search phrases like “MyInternetBusiness Scam” or “MyInternetBusiness Review” or “YourNetBiz.com review” or “YourNetBiz.com scam” into the search engines.

They’d likely see a whole string of positive reviews of apparently “success” MIB owners.

So what’s the catch?

Having evaluated a number of these business opportunities previously, I have to wonder:

  • How do you make a living if you do nothing and have others work for you? Aside from a network marketing/MLM multi level marketing/ponzi/pyramid scheme?
  • If your time is spent recruiting a downline or “distributors”, are you just a glorified boiler room peon, much like the men in Glengarry Glen Ross?

This is a great performance by Alec Baldwin from Glengarry Glen Ross:

Watching a movie and doing it in real life is a different barrel of fish however.

The promise to “earn money immediately” by earning “$300-2,000” per sale will likely come from your downline paying double that amount, with the other half going to the company.

The major issue I have with the program is that it doesn’t look like you will be learning much, and might be spending time recruiting more people into the system.

Spending time building a long-term and credible internet business requires:

  • Time
  • Effort
  • Money

Any other system which has you doing very little to earn a lot should fire up a warning sign if it hasn’t already.

Why not focus on building affiliate marketing skills and building your own internet business?

Great point Andrew. That’s one of the few things no one can ever take from you – knowledge. Building a skillset is one of the best things you can do.

I’ve learned that nothing is ever handed to you. You have to learn by taking action, whether it be reading, or observing others who are successful, and trying to emulate them.

There are way too many opportunities out there that claim a long term income, when in reality it’s most likely a quick buck (maybe).

Well said Andrew. Whenever somebody promises riches without doing any work, we should just stop and ask , if he is so confident about it , why don’t he just earns the money for himself. The same goes for all the so called gurus who have stumbled upon a SECRET google way to get massive traffic. Oh yeah. You found some secret and you are such a good human being that you want to share that secret with everybody in the world.

I agree with all that was sai. I have done a lot of research on this company, and this is the only negative thing I have found about them. I am looking for a reason not to jump in. I haven’t found a good reason yet. I work at a dead end job dispatching for a buss company here in Indy. Are there any actual real Internet Businesses out there. I am very interested. Can anyone help? you can reach me at cotterpin999@yahoo.com

    Thanks again,

    Colter
