10,000 in your list in 30 days? Andrew Wee goes guerilla!

Kudos to Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net for organising the latest Writing Project, this post on massive list building is my entry for the “How To” themed writing project found at: ProBlogger Group Writing Project – ‘How To…’

(I’m still holding out for the Amazon prize! :)).

Crowd

They say that your success in Internet Marketing is determined by the size of your list.

The power to shape opinion and influence behavior is a function of how big your list is.

And more importantly, if you have a qualified list. Do the members fit the demographic you’re targeting.

How relevant the members to your interests?

A list provides ready traffic and serves as the

  • core readership for your content (blog posts, ebooks, podcasts, vlogs)
  • primary clients for an affiliate marketing campaign you might run

Traditional list building might see 5 to 10 members joining your list on a daily basis.
Perhaps you’re giving them a 5 or 10 page report, or maybe a free ebook.

This could be effective in growing your list over the long term.

But what if you want a much bigger list, in a much shorter period of time?

What if you wanted a list numbering 10,000 or possibly even 100,000?

What if you could do all this for little cost, or even free?

Ok,I am a nut.

Even in the midst of launching the crazy offer today: Exclusive: $99 Internet Marketing giveaway including Robert Allen book, somehow I still found the time to head over to Darren Rowse’s Problogger.net (the definitive resource for bloggers) and keep hitting the refresh button.

You just can’t imagine how many times I read the Engadget Redesign post…

Gee I just might be able to recite it to you if you asked me to.

But here’s the exciting part!

The competition has been launched!

As anyone with a selfish motive would ask, What’re the prizes?

Here goes:

Exclusive: $99 Internet Marketing giveaway including Robert Allen book

Last night was a long one.I spent most of it setting up my opt-in list.

Because my buddy Ryan has been bugging me about it forever.

Don’t you think your visitors want more stuff from you?

You can give them stuff like an exclusive article every week, can’t you?

I guess.

Then why don’t you?

It got me thinking, since I’m planning to build up an Internet Marketing community, it doesn’t make sense for me not to build a mailing list.

This will bring our interaction beyond just blog comments. (thought good, they limit the conversations).

I have been cracking my head on the ultimate package I could give to my list members.

So you may have noticed I have been a little quieter than usual over the past few days.

And now I can release the details.

I’ve worked out a deal with Robert Allen, pre-eminent wealth creator and author of Multiple Streams of Income.

Ok, this next part may sound a little crazy.

Some of you might not believe me, but here goes: (more…)

No blog is an island: resources to grow and thrive

I’m constantly asked, what happens if I run out of things to say on my blog.

I admit it can be quite challenging to have to come out with original content on your blog every day. (I’m assuming you don’t do an excessive amount of RSS reposts on your blog).

You want to continue to grow your blog community. As the same time, you need to balance the amount of time you spend creating content and balancing out the time required to:

  • Generate traffic
  • Refine contextual advertising (like Google Adsense) placement stategies
  • Answer blog comments
  • Research affiliate marketing programs
  • Improve your blog site structure
  • List it on blog directories
  • Analyze and continually improve your post content

And on top of that, you might consider increasing your posting frequently to twice or thrice a day!

How do you manage?

Kick your blogging up a notch with the Tiger

There are wordpress plug-ins and then there are wordpress plug-ins.

And sometimes if you’re lucky, you encounter wordpress plug-ins!

Some plug-ins are kinda funky, like Hello Dolly! from Matt Mullenweg (aka Photo Matt) founding developer of WordPress. Matt also holds the distinction of being the #1 most important Matt in the world (according to google).

What does Hello Dolly do? For the non-Wordpress initiaited: It’s not just a plugin! It symbolizes the hope and enthusiasm of an entire generation summed up in two words sung most famously by Louis Armstrong: Hello, Dolly.

The effect?: When activated you will randomly see a lyric from Hello, Dolly in the upper right of your admin screen on every page.

Interesting plug-in. A bit lacking in the purely functional department, but otherwise good for your soul.

Then you have other plug-ins which help you do useful stuff, like link related posts, insert tags that help you get your blog found more easily (and hopefully bring more traffic).

I had a moment of ooh-ahh, when I chanced upon this plug-in while surfing the net earlier.
