Affiliate Summit co-founder Shawn Collins has posted a number of the presentations at the upcoming Affiliate Summit East on the Affiliate Summit blog. One of the standouts has to be Super Affiliate Amit Mehta’s Secrets of a PPC Super Affiliate. [PDF download]
Performance Marketing Worldwide CEO and co-founder Amit owns the Super Affiliate Mindset blog and has done well for himself.
Besides sporting his black Centurion American Express card:
Amit’s ASE presentation contains several nuggets of information for new and experienced affiliate marketers.
New PPC (PayPerClick) marketers might be be aware of the fundamentals of a solid PPC campign or have clear objectives in mind.
If you’re doing PPC, you might not go into Taguchi testing, but split testing your pages could help you significantly increase your conversion rates. As the mantra goes “test, test, test….and test again”.
PPC bidding strategies seem to elude many beginners, and having a set of guidelines is one way of staying on track.
As in creating genuine content sites, rather than sites comprising solely of RSS feeds or scraped content.
And if you’d like a crash course on the mechanics of growing your PPC spend:
It’s always encouraging to see optimistic projections, but for the bulk of PPC marketers, they will likely get ‘burned’ on their first couple of campaigns.
If you’re starting out with PPC, my advice is to start with smaller budgets ($15-20 a day), till you get a hang of working with Google’s Quality Score, or their counterparts at Yahoo! Search Marketing.
PPC is a long-haul strategy, talking to several Super Affiliates, it generally takes about 3 to 9 months to be able to your campaigns perform consistently.
Shawn has mentioned that there are still a few ASE tickets remaining with the registration closing on Friday, noon EST.
If you’re planning to go, here’s the signup link.
Hi Andrew,
I had no idea Shawn had posted the ASE slides online! Wow! Thanks for this. 🙂
Regarding the exponential income growth slide, you’re absolutely right, a newbie will not start out like this. It took me months before I made any real money at PPC. It was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears before it started to work.
The exponential growth slide is there to demonstrate how you can start with a small initial investment and grow your PPC adspend and profits.
I basically started with $200-$500 initial investment, and everything else has been paid by the profits I’ve made as a ppc affiliate. 🙂
Amit,
Great to have you drop by.
There’s always a period of paying your dues when it comes to PPC and CPA marketing.
I think many new Internet Marketers are held back by the risk/fear element and many don’t go beyond content publishing/adsense, when there’s a whole host of available options for Super Affiliates in the realms of PPC/CPA/Affiliate Marketing.
Like they say, “no pain no gain”.
Be prepared for some interesting questions during the Q&A at ASE now that there’ll be a few more informed readers in your crowd!
This is a really awesome post.
I hadn’t seen this stuff on the Affiliate Summit site either.
To restate what Amit said, I’m currently building profits with PPC too, and it’s been tough.
I got so mad at Yahoo the other day for taking more money than I thought they should, that I cancelled the account. Now, I will probably go back to them with a new understanding of how they work.
Thanks for keeping us up to speed on guys like Amit.
Really Appreciate this article, can you make it so I receive an update sent in an email whenever there is a new update?
