Google Toolbar PageRank Update In Progess

It’s been due for sometime and I was checking out ZZ Online Marketing’s post “Google Toolbar PageRank Update

I checked my Live PR at the Google datacenters:

Google PageRank

My Google Toolbar PR displays a 3, though it may be headed to a PR5 at the end of this exercise. Some of my other sites look like they may be moving up a notch.

This is encouraging because I’ve mostly focused on a content-based approach (except for a brief period where I felt I was excessively focused on meta and H1 and H2 optimization). Looks like the organic route has worked out well.

If you’re like to check the Live PR for your sites from the Google Datacenters, check out the following:

It looks like the PR score that iWeb reports from toolbarqueries.google.com might give you the PageRank that’s displayed on your toolbar.

Looks like I’m in the process of moving up from PR0 to PR1. I was expecting slightly more based on some searches I’ve been ranking for, but I guess those were just long-tail. Well it’s still a step in the right direction.

Thank you for the links Andrew!

From what I can see only about 10% of the DCs have been updated. Best wait a few days for the true PageRank value to settle down before drawing conclusions about the final result. It’s in the lap of the (Google) Gods right up until the last moment!

    Thanks for the headsup.

I’ve got a pagerank of 4 in 3 data centers, and 0 for the rest, giving me an average of 0.3. haha. Never really noticed what my pagerank was previously though

    Ted,
I counted 5 datacenters including toolbarquery listing you at PR4.
If you head from PR0 to PR4 in 1 feel swoop, that’ll be pretty impressive.

    Congratulations guys!

It does not look like I am going up. I hope that Google will eventually change and updates will become more dinamic. Besides, the backlinks that are listed in google DC are not that reliable, except for Google PR.

    Vlad:
The PageRank listed in the Google datacenters are ‘live’ PR. That means your site is rated at that particular datacenter.

Toolbar PR is considered by many to be based on past PR.

I spoken to SEOs and they consider Live PR to be a better gauge as your site will be spidered according to the frequency of the live PR.

I’m not sure what you mean by backlinks from the datacenter.

Yay! I got from PR 0 to 4 in slightly less than 4 mths, thanks to you Andrew, for emphasizing on content-based blogging.
My site’s URL without the “www” still shows a PR 0 though. Any idea why? Thanks.

    Hi Yich,
    Congrats!
No doubt, all the high PR links you got to your site, plus the problogger project helped too.

The Google datacenters are still updating.
I’d wait a few days for the PR to stabilize.
(Or perhaps you could consult your ‘Google insider’?)
