Why 90% of Internet Marketers fail

I have been feelng really disturbed over the last couple of days.

Some of my DigitalKeiretsu.com members have been coming up to me and saying that they have no idea what they should do, and how they should start.

Confused?

I’d spent the better part of a few hundred hours and a greater amount of funds, shortlisting the field down to the three core tools:

With these three tools, I’m confident that anyone, of any skill level can generate $1,000 – $2,000 per month consistently in adsense and affiliate marketing income with a blog.

Will this be enough to sustain you?

Probably not.

But what if you did three or more such blogs?

Would $4,000 – $6,000 per month be something decent?

Would that give you some measure of financial freedom?

If you’ve already read through my previous DigitalKeiretsu.com postings, please bear with me for a second.

Here’s a summary of the three tools:

  • SecretBlogWeapon.com: Developed by leading Asian blogger Gobala Krishnan, SecretBlogWeapon.com comprises the following components:

WordPress Adsense System (WAS) guide: WordPress is arguably the best suited profit-oriented blogging platform. Distributed under the GNU General Public License and is available free, WordPress dominates as the blogging platform of choice for profit-oriented blogging (or blogging for a living or blogging for dollars if you choose to call it that).

The WAS (centerpiece of the SecretBlogWeapon) comprises sections on SEO (search engine optimization) which optimizes your blog so you can be found more easily on the search engines.

WAS gives you step-by-step instructions on installing and configuring plug-ins to enhance your blogging experience.

You also get Google Adsense placement and configuration stategies.

Other items include:

  • 176 blog traffic generators
  • keyword niche research guides to get your site up and running.

It’s as comprehensive a package as I could find and is superior to other blogging packages at a similar or higher price point.

Additionally it contains:

  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization) guide intended to help you research, discover and develop a niche
  • Blogging for Profit book
  • software for automated RSS submission
  • an action plan guiding you to get your blog up in 7 days (or less).

If you apply it effectively, you are seeing profits within your first week of getting your blog up.

So far, so good, right?

On to the second tool,

  • UltimateAffiliateWeapon.com: Developed by Super Affiliate Ewen Chia, UAW guides Internet Marketers through a series of tutorials to ground you in the fundamentals of affiliate marketing.

Having completed sales of $1.5 million in 48 hours for his recent Super Affiliate Cloning Program, Ewen speaks with authority.

He also shares his system of doing Internet Marketing, and teaches you how to market UAW itself.

From there it’s a simple process to apply the system to other niches and start monetizing them immediately.

He runs through a marketing camapaign using UAW as an example.

Does it work? Consider this:

Ewen grew a list of 200,000 subscribers from UltimateAffiliateWeapon.com.

He can’t be wrong.

Can you apply it in your own niche?

Simply rinse and repeat.

The third tool:

Among my first steps was to register a whole bunch of domains and sign up for hosting at this unnamed company I shall refer to as WhoaMummy.

I spent close to $300 paying for domains and hosting.

I later found out I’d paid too much. Way too much!

But I still needed to register more domains and get more hosting.

After shortlisting and cancelling various web hosting accounts, I finally narrowed it down to SecretWebHostingWeapon.com.

What I spent at WhoaMummy, I realized later I could have just spent $97 for a year, or half that, $153 for two years worth of hosting.

Did I feel intelligent at that moment of realization?

Well, let’s say that my learning experience is to your benefit.

SecretWebHostingWeapon.com‘s features:

Inexpensive and powerful webhosting, SWHW provides for:

  • 6 domain names
  • 30 Gigabyte Hosting Space web hosting
  • 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts
  • 750 Gigs of Data Transfer
  • 24/7 superb, responsive sales/support.

It also provides a one click install of WordPress.

So for about $180, you can get started on making your Internet Marketing income.

Which can generate thousands of dollars on a monthly basis if you apply the system correctly.

And it works because I’m using it now!

But back to the questions which disturbed me:

  • How do I get started?
  • I don’t know what to do
  • Internet Marketing is so difficult!

Here’s the major issue in Internet Marketing.

The main reason why 90% of internet marketers fail is because they only see problems.

Specifically problems which “can’t be solved“.

They get frustrated when they hit a brick wall.

Who doesn’t?

But the interesting thing is that they decide almost immediately:

  • Internet Marketing is too difficult.
  • They feel that there’s no money in IM
  • They think only you can do it, because you’re some type of computer genius.
  • Add your own reason here.

What I say is that these are excuses, excuses and more excuses.

It is always so easy to adopt a problem-focused approach, where you’re seeing unsurmountable obstacle after unsurmountable obstacle.

Why not just give up at the first sign of trouble?

It’d be easier, wouldn’t it?

But what about the 10% of Internet Marketers who either encounter success or a spectacular level of success?

Didn’t they go through the same problems and issues as well?

What is the difference that makes the difference?

  • Do they have larger brains?
  • Higher IQs?
  • Were they born to use the computer and surf the internet?

That’s all hogwash if you ask me.

The only difference between the 90% of fail and the 10% who succeed (and there are 2 sub-groups within the 10%) is that those who succeed have a solution-based mindset.

Encountering a challenge means they go into ‘ok, let’s see how we can get over this speed bump’ mode.

IF you’re in any type of performance-related profession, whether it’s Internet Marketing, insurance, real estate, sales, you will hit the brick wall every now and then.

Do you just stare before the wall, wondering:

  • gee, that’s a high wall, let’s wait (I’m not sure what you might wait for…)
  • hey, maybe someone will come by with a ladder. (It might be a long wait…)

Or do you try to climb the wall?

Or better yet, smash the wall?

Consider for a moment:

  • Are you someone who focuses on the problem?
  • Maybe comes up with even more problems?
  • Or maybe you are the one who comes up with more solutions?

I took my DKers feedback very seriously.

I looked through SBW and UAW with a fine-toothed comb.

Do you know what I found?

All the answers were right there.

Everything any newbie to Internet Marketing, and everything you might have wanted to ask about Internet Marketing, but didn’t know how to ask or were too shy to ask was in there.

Every answer to every question could be found in either SBW or UAW.

By following the system I’d set up,following it step-by-step, the blueprint to success has already been set up.

Why then were they ‘stuck’? I asked, which part didn’t you understand?

Oh, I haven’t read it… they answered.

I didn’t think I would understand.

I was really getting frustrated!

Buddhist Monk Ajahn Brahm says:

Doing something is easy. Thinking about it is hard.

The sad truth about internet marketing is that you can be as big a failure as you CHOOSE to be.

On the other hand, you can be as successful as you want to be.

The sky IS the limit.
Realizing this, my outlook brightened up and it’s with an even stronger sense of faith that I’m pushing ahead with the DigitalKeiretsu.com.

You will succeed if you WANT to succeed.

Till Thursday, I’m planning to open up about 10 more places.

You can come in after that, though you may not get as much attention as those who see the opportunity and grab it!

After this round of DigitalKeiretsu.com recruitment, I’ll be focused on Stuart’s Internet Money Secrets and building up the DK Christmas campaign.

If you are commited to your personal IM success and you want to bring your blogging income to a new level, either:

  • from a marginal amount now to $2,000 a month now
  • or if you are already generating substantial income every month and you’d like to bring it still higher

You can join up by purchasing the following:

My order tracking systems will give you access to DigitalKeiretsu.com where you will gain additional tools and access to advanced blogging and affiliate marketing strategies.

[Note: you won’t see any of the DK stuff, until I give you access.]

I’ll see you on the inside.

    Hi Uzair,
I think the information is not quite accurate.
I’m an affiliate marketer and my earnings are closer to $2,000.
Adsense is a minor revenue stream for me, my income is negligible.

If you read through this post, you can choose to invest in the DigitalKeiretsu.com program and get immediate access to the strategies I’m sharing.

If you’ve detailed questions, you can use the contact me form to contact me.

    Cheers!

    Excellent post you made Andrew.

“They get frustrated when they hit a brick wall.

    Who doesn’t?”.

I don’t see how you made it clearer than that. We all look for instant gratifications and it’s hard to focus on ONE thing (or at least 2 things) for the long term. People need to get the complete picture, but in turn get lost at information which gets thrown at them. A filter and focus on what needs to be done now and first, not do as much as possible in the shortest time mindset.

Glad to see that you’re taking steps to guide your members to another level of action and knowledge…and thanks for the tips too!

    Hey Ryan,
yeah, the brick wall is there sometimes in the form of a physical barrier, sometimes an emotional barrier, and a lot of times a psychological one.

It’s always easy for everyone to do well when things are smooth sailing, but really it’s when the waters get choppy and life throws you a challenge or two or three, that the men and women are separated from the boys and girls.

    Onward and upward!

    Hi Andrew,
Nice post and really useful for beginners like me. I bought the WordPress Adsense System and Secret Affialate Weapon already :).
I have some info to share on webhosting, i found HostGator have a package which support unlimited domain and unlimited mysql database which i think will be perfect for interner marketers!
But their domain cost USD15 which is quite expensive. Registefly offer better domain price at USD9.99 .

    Check out these sites

    Host Gator – http://www.hostgator.com/
    & page=http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml
    RegsiterFly – http://www.registerfly.com

    Hi Bala,
    tks for the recommendations.
As I do not allow promotion of affiliate products on my blog, I have removed your affiliate link.

While I was shortlisting web hosts, I looked at hostgator.com. It didn\’t make the cut.

If you look at http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml, hostgator loses out in terms of disk space, bandwidth and domains hosted.

If you have the $6.95 plan which only hosts 1 domain, i think you are overpaying and you might want to consider going with secretwebhostingweapon.com instead.

If you have a $9.95 or higher plan, secretwebhostingweapon.com gives you better functions at $6.95 per month.

You may also want to note that there was a period where Hostgator was clamping down on blog automation software like RSStoBlog. So if your adsense and affiliate marketing income could be affected.

But I guess if you\’d like to use them, they could be a good choice for you.

The bottomline is that you need to find the best web host for your needs.

For domain registration, I\’d go to namecheap.com. Their rates are better than RegisterFly\’s at the moment.

Again, do your research, and most importantly use Google and see if you detect any problems or issues with the registrar.

    Hi Andrew,
Sorry for the affiliate link. Actually i was refer to
$9.95 plan which host unlimited domain and mysql database.
    I also visited the secretwebhostingweapon.com,

    Their plus point is
    – 50 GB disk space (damn good)
    – 999 GB/mo of bandwith (never seen anywhere before)
    – Ruby / Ruby On Rails – this is really good, next hot thing on web!
    – 50 MySQL databases

But no of domains only limited to 6.

I check out namecheap too..yeah their domain’s cheaper than registerfly, thanks.

    Regards

    Bala

    haha, this is so true.

I find it easy to read an ebook, but I have to sweat to implement the techniques.

    I like the quote
“Doing something is easy. Thinking about it is hard.”

In my own, not as elegant words
“Buying and reading an ebook is easy, putting the stuff into pratice is hard”

Great post. I would say another reason is a lot of people do not follow something through to profitability. So many people jump from one thing to the next before they need to switch.

Thank you for providing all this useful, helpful information. I wanted to point out that your link to the ultimateaffiliateweapon doesn’t seem to be working. All the other links worked fine. You might want to check it out.

A question – if WAS is free, what does paying over $90 for SBW get me that I wouldn’t get in WAS? It wasn’t so clear to me from their websites.

Thanks for the recommendations and all the help.

Great post. This relates to all aspects of life. People do get frustrated “when they hit brick walls,” the key is what you do after you hit that wall. The ones who don’t give up are the ones who succeed.

    Dear Andrew,
Initially I decided to try to get into Internet Marketing/Blogging as a way to generate a litle more income. By that I mean If I could generate an additional $500 per month I would think all my christmases’ had arrived at once. I have been blogging for 12 months now and never made one dollar. I have tried affiliate marketing with PayPal affiliate stuff but failed.
The more I get into it the more think I know nothing. People keep saying just keep goiing – so i’ll just keep going.
The challenge for me is to “see past the problems” and stick it out. I will keep comming back to your site because I hope I can learn somting that will help me make my first dollar.
    with thanks
    Dean

Great Post There are a lot of reasons people fail .You certainly did sum up a number of reasons why. Most people fail to get the proper leadership and learn how to market effectively. They also do not work at it. They have a site and sit on hoping they make money. It does not work that way
You have to spend time at your marketing business, learn how to get traffic to your site to get the sales needed to survive
