Friday Podcast: PPC Strategies With Andrew Payne

andrew payneI met Andrew Payne on the CashTactics blog where he’s leading a PPC case study.

Andrew’s in stealth mode and hasn’t given many public talks yet, though he’s certainly an affiliate marketer to watch.

Starting his PPC campaigns in Oct 2007, he generated over $1,000 in commissions in 4 days and has continued using PPC in his marketing campaigns.

I got him in for a Friday Podcast session, where we talked about:

  • His start in internet marketing in the area of search engine optimization
  • How he made the switch to PPC and some of the tips he’s picked up along the way
  • An overview of the PPC case study
  • Tips to optimize your landing page
  • Key techniques you should use to maximize the success of new campaigns
  • How to keep yourself continually motivated and achieving your goals
  • Andrew’s preferred affiliate and CPA networks

Cashtactics seems to be a hot blog. I hear more and more talk about them. Great interview!

Christ these podcasts are long. Dont know Andrew personally all that well but he’s a no mess around type of publisher and he hangs with Kris. He’s alright in my book!

The 594 keywords not bring sales is a real gut wrencher. It shows REAL patience that he actually paused them. I much more of a crap, this sucks and I proceed straight to the delete button.

    Ruckman,
Although Andrew’s been doing PPC for a little over a year, the amount of time and focus he’s brought to this shows in the knowledge he’s shared during the podcast and outside of it.

    He’s definitely one to watch.

Podcast length: They’re as long as they need to be.

Look forward to having you on the podcast real soon.
    We might even bust 90mins.
    What do you think?

Hi! I just found your page via pepperjam’s interview. Just wanted to let you know that i’ve really enjoyed your blog and all it has to offer. It’s not pushing sales into my face, its just telling me things that I can learn from… As a newbie to affiliate marketing I really appreciate the fact that your blog is not coated in empty promises of making $1 million dollars in the next hour. Thanks. I’ll continue to read, and will aim for the internet success you’ve achieved.

This question is directed at Andrew Payne:

Man, great job on the case study and all, I really learned a lot about how you research and build your campaigns but I have just ONE question:::

Why did you register your acai berry case study site on November 19, 2008,—when most of the case study took place from late October to early November??

I managed to find your site (it wasn’t easy) but when I did, I realized it was registered on the 19th and I’m like WTF???

Just thought it was odd, that’s all.

hotSTYLEZ* – The reason you see it registered on Nov 19th is because it’s a different domain name. I have quite a few acai related domains, most of which are spread out over various IPs and hosting accounts/servers. I separate my SEO only domains/websites from PPC domains and most of my domains are easy to find except the ones I’m using for active PPC campaigns. You aren’t going to be able to locate my domains with big campaigns. The case study domain was only a test domain and continues to serve as a test domain, cause I knew people would be trying to locate my profitable campaign. Needless to say, you aren’t the only one thats come across my domain, there are copy cats and as usual, they haven’t learned a thing about being successful. The one you have located is for a completely different project and has nothing to do with PPC. Hope that clears it up for ya 🙂
