Are You on the Internet Marketing Path to Glory?

I’ve had the chance to talk to a number of new Internet Marketers recently and I’m both inspired by their enthusiasm and alarmed by a major issue that a lot of them are facing.

If left unchecked, it could lead to the situation another of my contacts faced.

They quit their regular job to focus on Internet Marketing. Just working on it for long hours every day, sometimes 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

But yet their results were underwhelming to say the least. And close to a year into Internet Marketing, their savings are severely depleted.

Let’s look at some of the issues that will stall your plans toward achieving that Million Dollar Continue reading

The Art of the Blog Comment and Their Devastating Effects

This may seem to be a trivial post.

At the same time when you consider that the humble blog comment (a comment you leave on someone else’s blog) accounts for about 10% of the traffic I bring to this blog, it might still not seem so statistically meaningless.

Here’s a further clue to it’s importance, I had about 4300 unique visitors from Dec 1 – Dec 22. That means about 430 unique visitors arrived at this blog because of comments I made on other blogs.

Imagine having a party and having 430 people come over because you drafted a note and dropped it in their mailbox. And it was such a simple act that anyone can use it.

What’s great about blog comments? Continue reading

Kickstart Your Blogging Business and Make Big Money: 7 Reality Checks

[This post is my entry for Darren Rowse’s ProBlogger Group Writing Project – Reviews and Predictions]

2006 was an interesting time for me as I plunged into Internet Marketing.

Although I didn’t have a clear idea in the beginning, it was very clear that the path of least resistance would be to go with blogging.

In the course of the last 5 months, I’ve had a series of interesting experiences and the questions I’ve dealt with appear to be common with all new bloggers, whether the questions originate from a blog, a forum, a blog network or a social networking site.

Here’s 2006 in retrospective in a FAQ format with money making tips and 7 Reality Checks for bloggers and internet marketers.
Blogging is Evil

  • Blogging Reality Check 1: Making Money from Blogging is Evil

I’m not sure of the intent of this often heard objection.

I guess some might have ‘pure/purist intentions’ and expect that blogging is some form of ‘cathartic release’ for heavy/philosophical/ponderous thinking.

I see blogging as a form of personal journalism. And Continue reading

ProBlogger’s $2,500 Blogging Competition

ProBlogger Reviews and Predictions“Competition” may not be the best way to describe ProBlogger Darren Rowse’s latest writing project.

That’s because Darren will be assigning the prizes worth $2,500 randomly to 10 lucky winners.

The last time round I set my sights on the $200 Amazon voucher.

This time round, the prizes look equally tantalizing, although I’d have to say my top Continue reading

Back from Paradise into the Internet Marketing Thick of Things

The last 5 days has been an interesting time.

Fresh from finishing an intensive two day workshop with Copywriting Guru Jo Han Mok, I went for a 3 day vacation to paradise with the family. (thanks to my buddy Rachit Dayal who helped with my blog housekeeping while I was away)

We headed out to Indonesia in choppy water, akin to 5G roller coaster ride. (I’d later discovered that Singapore had been subjected to 24 hours of rain and flooding).

The ocean ride was tough. I couldn’t keep my lunch down. Neither it seemed could about 80% of the other passengers.

But we were rewarded with Continue reading

What is…the Answer to Anything and Everything?

I was doing research for an upcoming post and came across Darren Rowse’s Who Is Darren Rowse?

And found this cool “What is” tool.

IT consultant Arttu Ylärakkola’s Solvalou.com site scrapes content off the search engine and provides a snapshot about a certain topic.

What Is

I did a search for my buddy Rachit Dayal and came up with the following:

  • Rachit dayal is a Singapore-based Entrepreneur who founded Rachit Dayal Communications in January 2005 – An Internet Marketing Strategy Consulting Firm for.
  • Rachit dayal is a Singapore based Entrepreneur who graduated from NUS in 2005.
  • Rachit dayal is a Singapore-based Internet Marketing Specialist.

As you can tell, Rachit is a very exciting guy. (NOT…).

On the other hand, a search for “George Bush” shows up the intriguing…
