Friday Podcast: SEO Strategies With Kris Trujillo

kris trujilloI first got to know Kris when he took over the mantles of the Cash Tactics blog from it’s fonder Ralph “Ruck” Ruckman earlier this year. (Ruck went on to focus on his Convert2Media affiliate network).

From the Cash Tactics site, Kris describes himself as a “PPC and CPA Marketer but I also deal in retail affiliate marketing and I’m a product owner with my own affiliate program. I own a PPC search engine, several smaller search engines, a couple drop shipping stores, and a few other random sites.”

During our Friday Podcast discussion, we talked about:

  • How Kris got started in internet marketing
  • Changes and development in search engine optimization for your website
  • How to optimize your website structure
  • How to get started with a directory or search engine-based business
  • The difference between a “thick” directory and “thin” directory

Friday Podcast: Business Building Tips From Mike Peters

mike petersI met Mike Peters in person at Affiliate Summit West last year, having talked to him a number of times before that.

With a colorful lifetime of experience, Mike:

  • Started his first company at 14
  • Made more money than his dad at 15
  • Dropped out of school at 16
  • Said no to Microsoft’s offer of a 6-figure income job because he wanted to run his own businesses
  • Started 4 companies, closed them down or had them fail, accumulated $150,000 in credit card debt before hitting it big

And now serves as Florida General Manager for Software Projects, a full service internet marketing and web development firm.

In our discussion, we talked about:

  • How you can get started on planning and building your internet business
  • How you can effectively deal with challenges and failure in your business
  • Lessons Mike learned, especially with raising $6 million in funding for one of his businesses which ultimately failed
  • Which billionaire business owner Mike recommends as a role model to learn from
  • The truth and reality checks about owning your own business

Leveraging The Power Of The Internet To Grow Your StartUp Or Business

I’ve been invited to speak at a branding and marketing event this Thursday in Singapore organized by the NUS OC (National University of Singapore Overseas Colleges) and supported by the Entrepeneur 27 Singapore chapter.

I’ll be focusing on how startups and SMBs can leverage the power of the internet to generate leads, grow their business and increase revenue and profits.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, check out the event.

They have a facebook event page up.

If you come for the event, be sure to come up and say hi.

Beware of the Google Chrome Bermuda Triangle

I was a little shocked to see sections of my blog missing this morning:

google chrome

The right sidebar completely disappeared, and the footer appeared to be displayed there.

Rather than take the extreme measure of overwriting my customized template with the default installs, I looked at the code that had been generated with Google Chrome the day earlier as I was using the new browser to publish the web page.

For whatever reason, Chrome inserted extra (more…)
